Hi, my name is Ashley and this is my website.
I'm currently a junior at Brown University where I'm pursuing an Artium Baccalaureus in Computer Science. This means that I have poor eyesight and a chronic wrist injury. It also means that I get to do some really, really cool stuff and work with a lot of incredible people. I have the privilege of being one of the coordinators for Brown University's chapter of Women in Computer Science, an organization as beloved for its commitment to gender equality in the largely male-dominated field of computer science as the sheer volume of free food it pumps into the department every year. I'm also a Meta-TA, one of the two wicked cool folks who run our department's infamous undergraduate teacing assistant program. Outside of computer science, my interests run from knitting to mead-brewing and cover just about everything in between. I am fascinated by tarot, herbalism, and folk magic. I love language, and I've learned a fair bit of French mostly by listening to Debout sur le Zinc. I'm also really into traditional Celtic and Scandinavian music; I help coordinate Valhallapalooza, a Celto-Nordic cultural festival which features folk music and dance.
When I think, I format my internal monologue like a Wikipedia entry, making sure to give words and phrases representing key concepts special emphasis as though they're links to related entries. I hope to someday be important enough to merit my own Wikipedia entry, although I'm not sure how exactly I'd go about doing that. I would also someday like to have a mathematical paradox named after me.
